Hemmie"s First Birthday!

Hemmie had such a great time with family and friends on her first birthday! She didn't get into the cake as much as we thought she would - but that left more of Brian's custom smash cake for the rest of us :) We still can't believe that The Hemster has turned one ... it's been an amazing year of firsts! Thanks to all of you for sharing it with us, and looking forward to lots more memories to come!

HAPPPPPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hemmie's Halloween social calendar is a busy one!  She had a costume parade at daycare on Friday, a get-together with her playgroup crew on Saturday afternoon, and we are about to head into the city for some more fun with the aunties and uncles :)  Hemmie has been sporting her giraffe costume and looking super cute!!

Casting Call

We put Hemmie in her jeans and went outside to take a few pics for the Gap Casting Call contest :)  Even if she doesn't win, she is OUR superstar!!  We added a few of these pics to the Fall 2010 album in the picture link

Apple Picking

The Thacks welcomed autumn with a trip to Bethel, CT to pick some apples!  Hemmie was a real pro and we got some great apples to bring home with us (the kettle corn and apple donuts, however, did not make it!!)  Now, what to do with all this fruit......

Polo, Dahling

The Thack's first trip to the polo grounds!  We had a great time at the Victory Cup with Heather and Zeke, and met up with our friends Ben, Sandy and their adorable little boy Carter.  Dad's a little nervous - these two seemed to hit it off pretty well!!  We had a great time in our fancy outfits watching the ponies run across the field.  Looking forward to next year's polo season :) (More pix in the Fall 2010 album)

Finger Lakes

At long last we have posted the pictures from our Labor Day weekend!  Hemmie had lots of firsts: first time on a boat, first time in a limo and first time at a vineyard :)  We had a great time with Nick, Jackie, Hauk, Lauren, and our gracious hosts Jimmy and Heather.  Hemmie liked the boat so much that she is asking for one for her first birthday - Mom is in full support.  We have added pictures in the album "Fall 2010" for your viewing enjoyment!!

Splish Splash

Hemmie and Dad had their first swim lesson on Saturday! We have a real Ethel Merman on our hands and The Hemster showed everyone else how its done :) Brian says he has to brush up on his nursery rhymes - there's a lot of singing!

Hi, I'm in Delaware

We  had the best time in Delaware with the Rogers and Bower families!  9 of us descended on Laura's family's gorgeous home on the Baywood golf course.  Hemmie absolutely loved the pool and splashing around, as well as wearing matching outfits with her besties Emi and Avery!  She also loved staying up past her bedtime and trying some pretzel bread in the clubhouse :)  We have added more pix of the trip in the Summer 2010 folder on the pictues page.  Can't believe Labor Day is almost here!

Good Times at THE ZOO

The Thack fam went to the Bronx Zoo on Sunday to check out the wildlife!  Hemmie had a great time watching all the animals, although she does have a special place in her heart for fish it seems.  She also really liked the monkeys and the giraffes - it was so fun watching her get excited to see all the cool stuff.  We uploaded a bunch of pics into the Summer 2010 folder - check 'em out!

Power Up Superheroes!

We hadn't taken any pix of The Hemster in a while, so shot a few while playing around in the living room.  We can't believe how fast she is growing up! Happy 4th of July

Good Times with my Grandparents

I had so much fun spending time with my grandparents.  Grandmermie spent a week with me and Grandpoppy came on Wednesday night (and Aunt C on Friday!!). Here we are at the Crabshell, and there are lots more new pics in the Summer 2010 album.  Cheers!

The Shore

We had a FAB time at the shore last weekend!  Aunt Kate had us at her place in Ocean City for laughs, memories and a ton of food (that recycling bin sure looked full when we left also....!) It was super fun to hang with Camryn, who was showing Hemmie the big girl ropes, as well as go to the beach for the first time.    Thank you so much for hosting us!!!

Happy Half Birthday Hemmie!!

Hemmie turned 6 months on Friday (!!) and to celebrate, we took her on
her first trip to IKEA (it was Mom's first trip also, if you can
believe it). We had so much fun looking at all the goodies, including
the cool cabinets Uncle Matt, Aunt Liz and Jessie chose for their new
home. I think the highlight was the cafe and the jar of Ikea bananas,
which she LOVED :)

After coming home from Georgia this morning, we spent some time in the yard hanging out in this patriotic oufit :)  We've added some pictures to the Spring 2010 album (link on the right) - hope you all had a great long weekend!

The Farm!

We had the best time celebrating Dan and Les at the Pope Family Farm this weekend, right outside of Warm Springs, GA!  It was a real South-meets-North-meets-New-Orleans affair, complete with farm animals, skeet shooting, crawfish boil and champagne toast :)  Hemmie had the best time hanging with all of the boys and staying up way past her bedtime to fete Les and Dan's engagement - we are so excited for them as they start this next chapter in their lives!  CONGRATS!!!!!! (ps - check out all the pictures by following the photo link at the top right)

I'm not sure what's funnier - all of Hemmie's farty noises and pteradactyl gasps, or the fact that she totally zones out around the 1:30 mark!  What a piece of work!

First Day of Summer

All four of us ar enjoying the amazing weather in lovely Ridgefield,
CT. We stumbled on a town fair and Hemmie and Dakota are having fun
exploring all the sights and sounds. Excellent excuse to wear the new
hat! A welcome respite from the past few days of Hemmie's not feeling
very well (Mom, that gerrund-takes-the-possessive was for you!)

Four Generations

It was SOOOO special to have our grandparents come to Hemmie's baptism!  It was a day to remember having Hemmie's great-grandmother (the original Stella!) and great-grandfather in Connecticut and enjoying a fun day with everyone.  4 generations of Sidor/Walshes and Thackrays!  We have published some additional pictures of our family in the photo link at the right, under the Spring 2010 album
